What we do
Activities
Our aims are all about regenerating woodlands, enthusing and educating people about the value of woodlands and wood products, bringing communities closer to their natural environment, facilitating a greater understanding of timber, and ensuring the viability and sustainability of the region's woods.
To achieve these aims the Trust undertakes a wide range of activities including:
- developing and delivering a range of projects and undertaking research and consultancy
- providing opportunities for skills and training, work placements and student projects
- establishing and participating in relevant partnerships and networks at local, regional and national level
- responding to consultations concerning local, regional and national policy
Partnerships
At a local level, the Trust manages the Devon Forest Education Network and at a regional level the Trust manages the Woodland Renaissance Partnership. Nationally, Trust staff members also sit on the steering groups of the Woodland Initiatives Network, the England Woodland and Timber Partnership (formerly EFIP) and the England Forest Education Network.
